INTEROpen, the new supplier led group focusing on promoting interoperability between clinical systems, has launched this week. TPP is a founding member of the group and welcomes the brilliant opportunity it gives to advance the interoperability agenda, through accelerating the use of open standards such as FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources).
Ashley Brook, Director, TPP, said “Interoperability between clinical systems is a key step in achieving the goals set out in the NHS Five Year View. As a company we have been working hard to meet these goals and it’s fantastic that with INTEROpen we as suppliers now have a dedicated place to work together collectively and drive progress on the agenda.”
TPP is committed to interoperability, and more generally has been working with NHS England and HSCIC over the past two years helping to devise the national interoperability strategy. TPP is an active member of the Code4Health supplier forum and has signed the TechUK Interoperability Charter. TPP is also an active member of HL7.
INTEROpen is open for all health and care IT suppliers to join. For more information, or for companies interested in joining, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Updates on INTEROpen’s activity will be shared on Twitter via @INTEROPenAPI.
