TPP have signed a contract with Solent NHS Trust to deploy SystmOne Mental Health to inpatient and outpatient services across Southampton and Portsmouth.

Solent is looking to integrate the patient pathway and improve the continuity of information between providers – ending the disparity between mental health and physical health. The need for integration has been a focus of NHS strategy with reports such as the Department of Health Better Access to Mental Health Services by 2020 highlighting specific areas for development.

SystmOne Mental Health offers staff at Solent specialist functionality to manage the entire patient pathway as well as the ability to securely share data in real time with other health services. The Mental Health solution also has mobile working functionality to enable staff to deliver personalised care closer to home.

Glen Wale, Head of Information Systems, Solent NHS Trust says “There is a real need to close the gap between physical health and mental health. Using SystmOne will give us an integrated record across care settings allowing healthcare professionals to deliver more personalised and holistic care. We are excited to see the benefits the deployment will bring for patients across Solent”.

Solent currently use SystmOne across sixteen community sites and one walk in centre. The system is also used by GP practices in the area. In total, Solent will have around 3,500 staff using SystmOne to manage approximately 1.2 million patient contacts per year. The trust tendered for a mental health system under the 2015 Consortium framework.

Solent will go live with SystmOne will go live as part of a phased roll out between May and September 2015.
