TPP Developing Electronic Patient Questionnaires
TPP has started development on allowing organisations to create Read-coded Practice Satisfaction Surveys or Questionnaires on SystmOne. This has great potential for organisations wanting to obtain QOF-relevant data easily.
The intention is that patients could complete the questionnaire on paper using a printed copy, or electronically via a 'Patient Self-Input' touch-screen or by logging in to the SystmOnline website.
In future, it is hoped that this functionality could be developed further to allow patients to perform other tasks, such as viewing their own medical record.
When released, the 'Patient Self-Input' screen will be available to SystmOne users immediately, without needing to be enabled by TPP. Questionnaires will be easy to create as they will be similar to the data entry templates that SystmOne users are already familiar with.
The first stage of development will allow users to design a questionnaire and print it out. Patients can then fill the questionnaire in and the document can be scanned and filed to their record.
The second stage will allow any patient to use a new 'Patient Self-Input' touch screen in the practice - after identifying themselves by entering their name and date of birth, the patient will follow on-screen instructions to complete the questionnaire. Alternatively, patients with a SystmOnline account will be able to log on to the website and complete the questionnaire without needing to go into the surgery.
SystmOne users should keep an eye on SystmOne Change and Status Messages for more information.
