Eleven Years and One Thousand Practices!
TPP is celebrating two milestones this month - eleven years of the company and 1,000 GP practices live on SystmOne. TPP's birthday comes after several significant developments in the company's growth: SystmOne has become part of the GP Systems of Choice programme, has become the national IT system for prisons, and TPP has launched new products covering secondary care (including A&E), mental health and social services settings.
Almost a decade to the day since the first GP practice went live, Broadhurst Street Surgery in Leicester has become the 1,000th SystmOne practice. With another 150 in deployment, one in seven GP practices in England is now using or moving to SystmOne.
Dr John Parry, TPP's Clinical Director, is a GP at Holycroft Surgery, Keighley, the first practice ever to use SystmOne, Holycroft Surgery in Keighley, West Yorkshire. He says, "The first ten years has been a fascinating time. We have moved from a 'new entrant' to the market to an established clinical system supplier. The market has been a hard one, displacing legacy systems, migrating data and enhancing functionality. The sea change in the understanding of patient record sharing has been demonstrated by the use of SystmOne, and exciting examples of transformational change within NHS care delivery have been made possible. The pressures on health communities over the next few years through financial constraints will fuel the need for smarter and more efficient ways of working. Greater integration of primary and secondary care will support this, so the recent announcement about our secondary care products is very welcome."
Dr Parry adds, "As a company we would like to thank our users and the staff who support them. We are firmly committed to providing the highest quality service and to continuing to develop the product to meet the needs of users and their patients."
