First Independent SystmOne National User Group Conference Announced

The first independent SystmOne National User Group Conference has been announced.  The event is to take place on Tuesday May 19 2009 at the Walkers Stadium in Leicester.

The SystmOne National User Group has recently been formed to provide users of the SystmOne clinical system with an independent forum at which they can feed back their own experiences, share best practice and have an input into future developments.  The group will also provide representation on other committees and professional groups, such as the CFH GP Pan User Group.

The first independent SystmOne National User Group conference offers a chance to establish the group and look at a vision for the future.  The agenda will include workshop sessions, a forum to discuss ideas and thoughts, and a chance to meet providers of IT hardware.

Dr Paul Nathan, a GP at Hollybrook Medical Centre, Derby City PCT, is the SystmOne user heading the team organising the event.  He says, "It's time we had a national user group so that all SystmOne users have an active voice and a lobbying power to influence both CFH and TPP."

A website has also been launched to support the group.  It can be found at www.tppusergroup.co.uk  The website contains information on the conference as well as latest news, local user groups and a forum.  It is hoped that as more people become part of the user group, the website will become a useful resource and communication too.

People wishing to attend the conference can also register from the East Midlands Events website.

TPP is supportive of an independent user group.  Clinical Director, Dr John Parry, says, "SystmOne now has a very well-established and ever-increasing user base across diverse care settings throughout England.  The independent user group will provide a new forum for communication between the company and our customer base, one that is markedly different from the chat rooms and PCT meetings.  Being independent the lobby will be stronger, and will facilitate more in depth discussions.  In addition the group will be able to represent the user base in the broader NHS environment, including Connecting for Health and the Department of Health.  This is a very important step forward."
