ScriptSwitch Integration Now Available to all SystmOne Users

ScriptSwitch is a prescribing support tool that offers instant advice to prescribers and highlights potential savings available. It now integrates with SystmOne.

A pilot phase has been undertaken and successfully completed, meaning that it is now available to all SystmOne users.

Using a simple on-screen interface, ScriptSwitch brings clear, simple and concise clinical and financial information to clinicians at the point of prescribing. The system provides a cost benefit for an average practice in the UK of around £40,000 per year.

For users with ScriptSwitch, when a clinician prescribes a drug in SystmOne, ScriptSwitch will be launched. A dialog displays alternative drugs and their costs. Clinicians can then decide to choose a more economical drug than the one they initially prescribed. If a drug suggested by  ScriptSwitch is selected, its name and dosage details will automatically be updated in the SystmOne prescription.

To use the integration, SystmOne users with ScriptSwitch installed simply activate the appropriate User Preference in SystmOne..

Users without ScriptSwitch installed will need to contact their PCT as the PCT needs a ScriptSwitch licence. Once the PCT has obtained a licence, ScriptSwitch will contact TPP, who will activate the integration for the user's practice.
