Rainbows Children's Hospice Benefits from 1,000th SystmOne GP Go Live

The 1,000th installation of SystmOne GP is now live at the Broadhurst Street Medical Practice in Leicester. To celebrate, CSC donated £1,000 to the charity of the practice's choice - Rainbows Children's Hospice.

SystmOne is part of CSC's strategic primary care solution. It is available under the Local Service Provider (LSP) contract to GP practices across the North, Midlands and East. The solution now supports the care of over 13 million patients in England through 47,000 users carrying out over 1.2 million patient consultations per month. It is the only integrated primary care solution deployed at such scale, and it maintains the vision of the National Programme for IT: deliver the right information, to the right person, at the right time.

"This is a great example of how technology can provide better, safer and more effective care for patients," said Dr. Simon Freeman, director of Information and Corporate Performance for NHS Leicester City and NHS Leicestershire County and Rutland. "It will ensure people have to tell their story just once and support healthcare professionals by storing all relevant information on a patient safely and securely."

"Reaching 1000 GP practice implementations is a key achievement for CSC in delivering the objectives of the NHS National Programme for IT," said Gerry O'Keeffe, vice president of CSC's UK healthcare business. The benefits of the system are genuinely helping to transform the experience of care patients receive across the NHS."

CSC is responsible for implementing the NHS's National Programme for IT across 60% of the population in England. Additionally, CSC can now make SystmOne available to GPs in London and the South of England under the GP Systems of Choice (GPSoC) initiative, extending potential coverage and the associated benefits of the strategic solution to the whole of England.
