SystmOne Community

It is easy to underestimate the needs of community practitioners, yet their roles and demands are as complex and varied as those in an acute trust. Unfortunately, software suppliers have historically either limited community solutions to a couple of screens bolted onto a GP practice system, or simply offered first-contact counting. SystmOne Community is radically different.

We have worked closely with community practitioners to rebuild much of the SystmOne suite from the ground up. Concepts such as shared care and care plans have been written to cope with the demands of community units. The database has been designed to encompass the scope of activity, which it must now audit. Implicit in the design is the tenet that the clinical activity drives the production of statistics, rather than the reverse.

SystmOne Community’s capabilities extend far beyond contact data to the full spectrum of clinicians’ requirements: referrals, sensitivities and allergies, medication history, patient preferences, alerts and reminders, social templates, consultation notes and notifications are all simply and efficiently managed by the system.

For the first time, patient information can be shared electronically and in real time between community nurses and a broad range of Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) including Health Visitors, Dieticians, Phlebotomists, Podiatrists, plus PCTs and GP practices. AHPs can record complete assessments in their area of expertise. Additionally, the ability to share data between all of these care providers means that, within the terms agreed, it is possible for each practitioner to be aware of individual patient issues such as risk assessment.

SystmOne Community also supports Drug Rehab services. The flexible prescribing system supports instalment dispensing of controlled drugs. Public holidays and Sundays are supported with double/triple issuing which is customisable on a 'default' or patient-by-patient basis. It's also easy to set supervised doses and drug schedules. NDTMS (National Drug Treatment Monitoring System) reports are created by SystmOne using the latest specification. Data is presented in a simple .csv extract which can be uploaded to the relevant website, and used to monitor the services being delivered. Easily-configurable templates allow clinicans to collect an almost limitless breadth of information about patient lifestyle and history.

SystmOne Community copes easily with the varied structures of Community units. Whatever the make-up of the unit, the number of teams, or the disciplines they overlap, SystmOne Community can be configured to suit your needs.

Community practitioners have been hampered for too long by the lack of any real computerised support system. As a result, you have been weighed down by administration and the lack of access to useful information. SystmOne's extensive, holistic approach to patient care offers real support, enabling you to spend longer with your patients and deliver the sort of 'extras' you've always wanted. You'll wonder how you ever managed without SystmOne Community.
