TPP is delighted to announce that they are now licensed to incorporate NHS Pathways into their System Urgent Care module, enabling them to supply to NHS licensed users. This agreement supports the new fully integrated triage software within the new SystmOne 111 offering.

Integrated NHS Pathways functionality enables the triage software to be launched directly from the SystmOne Out of Hours case. Users then follow set questions to assess the nature and urgency of a case, once completed, the urgency and detailed triage information is instantly populated back in to SystmOne. Call handlers will also be able to perform warm transfers and clinicians easily perform call backs, for emergency cases, an ambulance dispatch message can be sent to any other 111 compliant service.

Organisations using NHS Pathways functionality will be able to query the integrated CMS Directory of Services (DoS) to send electronic referrals to any other service, instantly making the referral process more efficient. Repeat callers can be easily identified through the repeat caller database to find patients who have made two or more calls to any other 111 service in the past 96 hours.

TPP, Clinical Director, Dr John Parry says “Fully integrated NHS Pathways functionality will allow organisations to become more streamlined in the way that they work, especially with regards to treatment times in urgent care.”

TPP are actively looking to work with any organisation looking to pilot NHS Pathways functionality. If your organisation is interested, please contact the TPP Customer Relationship Team on 0113 20 500 83 or email enquiries@tpp-uk.com.

Pocket SystmOne, an application for Blackberry devices developed by Inchware has successfully completed testing with TPP. Inchware have designed the app which allows users of any SystmOne module to securely download SystmOne patient records to your Blackberry to add and view information in the patient record whilst on the move.

The new app provides complete accessibility to many areas of the SystmOne patient record including previous consultation information, medication and pathology results. Online-offline access allows data entry into the patient record via Pocket SystmOne when a mobile network is unavailable. This new store and forward solution ensures that users can to continue to work efficiently irrespective of where they are based. Richard Morris, Company Director at Inchware says, “This is a big step towards ensuring mobile working can be flexible enough to accommodate the needs of the NHS. Pocket SystmOne can really help organisations to streamline their workflows to save time and money as clinicians do not have to continuously spend time uploading data”.

Inchware are initially running a pilot of Pocket SystmOne in one PCT and anticipate the pilot to run for a maximum of 6 weeks. Inchware and TPP will be working closely together to monitor the success of the pilot. Following this, SystmOne users will be able to contact Inchware directly to install the software required to run Pocket SystmOne. Inchware will also be providing local PCT helpdesks, who have a direct link to TPP, with all the relevant information to provide direct support for the product.

To get Pocket SystmOne enabled at your organisation email pocketsystmone@inchware.com or for more information visit the Inchware website at www.inchware.co.uk.

TPP are delighted to announce that new developments are taking place on their Social Services module. TPP have worked very closely with North East Lincolnshire Care Trust Plus (CTP) on these changes. CTP is responsible for a combined health and social care budget of over £270M for the 170,000 residents of the Immingham, Grimsby and Cleethorpes area.

CTP are currently using SystmOne to record basic initial contacts with their clients, but the latest developments will allow them to really make the most of SystmOne. They will soon have the functionality to record a client’s every need, service and assessment. This will be done by creating referrals, templates, questionnaires and mail merges, as well as recording assessments and maintaining a detailed contact with every client.

This also means that Social Services will be able to share information with other healthcare settings. North East Lincolnshire CTP is currently piloting the data sharing module which allows other care settings to view a patient’s record electronically if consent is given. The Social Services module will be included in this, so information will be shared between other healthcare organisations, further joining up healthcare.

Staff at TPP are also excited to be working with Oxford Computer Consultants (OCC) on this project. OCC are a trusted provider of bespoke software solutions for the healthcare sector. TPP are focusing on developing the healthcare functionality, while OCC are developing both the Trust’s Contracts and Financial systems; allowing CTP to record their service costs. Together, TPP and OCC will deliver the Social Services module, allowing CTP to provide a fully integrated service for Social Services patients.

Dr John Parry, clinical director of TPP, said “We are looking forward to linking up yet another healthcare setting in order to fully support the vision of joined up healthcare. This really is a huge opportunity to streamline joint care planning across both health and social care. We can really capture the client’s needs and facilitate the delivery of services in relation to the appropriate budget.”

Analysts at TPP will begin testing the latest changes shortly. A demonstration will be held for the North East Lincolnshire Care Trust Plus in the next couple of weeks, with the expectation of going live summer 2012.

The SCR viewer has been nominated in the IT Innovator of the Year award at this year’s Health Investor Awards. Due to be held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on the 31st May, the awards celebrate excellence and innovation in the healthcare industry.

This is the first year that TPP have been nominated for the award, which rewards the project that has been the most innovate in improving healthcare in 2011. The Summary Care Record (SCR) viewer allows SystmOne users in any care setting to view vital information about a patient, including medication, allergies and sensitivities irrespective of what clinical system their GP is using, providing the patient has consented to a SCR being created. Developed in line with the NHS Operating Framework 2012/13, SystmOne is the first GP clinical system to develop the use of an SCR viewer.

TPP and Graphnet are delighted to announce an integration enabling data transfer between their systems, SystmOne and Care-Centric. The collaboration will utilise the extensive experience and knowledge of both companies to assist clinicians to access essential patient data exactly at the point of care.

Andy Bratt, Managing Director of Graphnet said “We’re excited to be working with TPP. We’ve realised that interoperability is often at the heart of all good practice and sharing information amongst those delivering care will help to create a real community, uniting all those involved.”

The integration, utilising a ‘single-sign on’ process, will allow current users of Graphnet software, in any healthcare setting, to securely access the full SystmOne record of a patient via a SystmOne viewer. SystmOne users will also be able to view the record, with relevant consent, for any patient cared for at a healthcare organisation currently using Graphnet. In addition the integration will provide users with the full data to meet business intelligence requirements.

Dr John Parry, Clinical Director of TPP said “This is yet another way that TPP is helping clinicians provide integrated care. Particularly in areas of high SystmOne coverage, this latest integration will provide essential and accurate information from the detailed care record, enabling clinicians to make quicker and safer medical decisions.”

There are several organisations already interested in taking advantage of this integration including two GP practices in Trafford PCT who are due to deploy SystmOne in Summer 2012.

TPP is delighted to announce that their software engineers have completed work on an adaptor to transfer data from EMIS Web practices to SystmOne. Should practices decide to move systems, this adaptor will allow those who currently use EMIS Web to have their patient data quickly and safely migrated into SystmOne.

The data migration team at TPP already use a series of mature adaptors for a range of legacy systems. However the need for this latest adaptor arose when one of the first practices to use EMIS Web decided to move to SystmOne. The practice, Sands End Surgery, in Fulham, made the decision to switch clinical systems in 2011. They are now planning on going live with SystmOne before June.

Amy Foy, who works at the practice, says “Everything is going fantastically well. Our data checking is nearly at an end and we’ve had some great help from TPP. The move to our current system was quite pressured and it all happened in a bit of a rush. However this time, we’re confident everything is planned and that our move to SystmOne will be successful.”

Data migration staff at TPP are now in the process of checking the quality of the practice data along with the practice. Once checking is complete, staff at Sands End will then spend time approving their own data before going live with SystmOne.

TPP are pleased to announce that the SystmOne Call Centre module is now available for organisations using the new 111 telephone number. Developed in line with Connecting for Health, the new functionality has been designed to allow maximum flexibility, irrespective of the type of treatment given to a patient.

The 111 developments ensure the patient journey is seamless. SystmOne is fully PDS compliant, meaning organisations have instant access to essential patient details, including their Summary Care Record, as soon as a patient is registered. In line with 111 requirements, frequent flyers can be easily identified through a new ‘96 hours’ flag, making it easier for services to monitor trends and identify where a patient has received more than one episode of care within the last four days.

Various patient pathways can be easily followed, providing patients with a better service. Clinician warm transfers can be quickly initiated and the Directory of Services can be queried to allow electronic referrals to be sent instantly to other services. For patients requiring urgent care, an ambulance dispatch message can be sent directly from SystmOne to any 111 compliant ambulance service, irrespective of the system they are using. TPP Clinical Director Dr John Parry says “This provides urgent care services with the ability to work seamlessly together to meet patient needs. To be able to pass information directly to an ambulance service ensures clinical information is always readily available”.

TPP are looking for 111 services who are interested in piloting the new functionality. If your organisation would like to be a part of this, please contact TPP’s Customer Relations team on 0113 20 500 83.

The Sunday Times has named TPP in the 100 Best Small Companies list for the third year running. At this week’s awards ceremony, held at the Battersea Events Arena in London, TPP placed at number 50 in the list. The company came 19 places higher than in 2011 and was awarded 3-star accreditation from the Best Companies team.

The competition this year was higher than ever with nearly 1000 companies from various sectors submitting entries. Employees at TPP were all asked to fill in an anonymous questionnaire rating the company on a range of factors, from pay and benefits to leadership.

The results show that TPP staff voted the company first for ‘making a positive difference to the world’. Every day employees can see the difference that SystmOne is making to improving patient care, whether it’s through providing customer support or writing new functionality to go into the system.

The company also came high in the list for the pay and benefits category. Dan Adams, a Systems Analyst who has been working at TPP for 5 years says, “You feel very taken care of here. Even though our job is fairly stressful at times, and we work in a fast paced environment, there’s always a great social side and fantastic support available.”

Personal growth and development is another category which scored highly. Each employee uses five days a year to undertake a training course of their choice which is fully funded by the company. TPP are now continuing their recruitment drive throughout 2012, hiring between 50 and 100 new staff members for their Horsforth based office. Frank Hester, Managing Director at TPP, said “I’m extremely proud of everyone that works for this company, it’s a delight to come to the office every day and work with my staff. It’s a fantastic achievement to be recognised for any of the work we do but to be named in the Best Companies List is always a real highlight.”

TPP are delighted to announce they have recently chosen to donate £2000 to The Grove Hotel, Bournemouth. The Grove Hotel is the first of its kind, dedicated to supporting those with cancer or other life-threatening illnesses and giving patients and their families a well deserved break. When a Trainer from TPP heard about the cause, he wanted to get involved and try and get TPP’s support.

This not-for-profit hotel is designed with safety and support in every detail. Emergency pull cords are fitted in every bedroom and bathroom. Several rooms are fitted with electric beds and have wheelchair access, a qualified emergency nurse is also on hand 24 hours a day. There is also a beach hut available for the guests use and free trips to local attractions. The hotel is operated by Dorset-based charity Macmillan Caring Locally who provide volunteers to work at the hotel.

With the help of TPP’s donation, The Grove Hotel hopes to refurbish the seating area for their guests. They’ll also invest in IT equipment, including a projector which would allow the hotel to advertise their work and attract more support from around the UK.

Brenden Howard, Manager of The Grove Hotel, said “We at The Grove can’t thank TPP enough. Your gift is very much appreciated and you can rest assured that our guests will also appreciate your kind gesture.”

Staff from TPP will be visiting The Grove Hotel soon to observe the work they are doing and see if there are any other ways we can assist.
