Simon Evans
Health Informatics Manager
Rushcliffe PCT
I've been involved in different capacities in the migration to SystmOne
of six practices. Our first practice was actually the second to migrate as
part of NPfIT in England, and I was heavily involved working in the practice
and with training.
SystmOne has considerably less downfalls than most clinical systems. After
moving to SystmOne, practices are very happy.
SystmOne's performance is excellent. Working with clinical systems, I've
had major issues with performance and am very impressed with SystmOne. As
a Health Informatics Manager, performance of practices is key for me and
we want the practices to use their system as much as they can.
There are always going to be problems when you're involved with a data migration
to any system, but with SystmOne, there are significantly less problems than
I've experienced with any of the other migrations to different systems.
During the migration process, problem reporting to TPP is handled very well.
Problems with data are dealt with promptly and the practice knows when they
can expect solutions.
TPP is very responsive. When there's a problem, in the majority of cases,
TPP deals with it quickly, much quicker than I've known any other system
to do.
The practices that have moved onto SystmOne have seen a massive benefit.
People need to perceive the whole procedure of migration as a positive thing.
It is disruptive but it's also very positive. Data gets better. Practice
staff become better trained; they learn better processes and often adopt
best practice.
Our first practice had very little support from their system supplier, they
were not very IT literate and were struggling. The migration to SystmOne
helped them no end.
With our first two practices, we had TPP training until Go Live. I was very
impressed with the professional attitude of TPP's trainers.
